Luton Town secured a comprehensive 4-1 away win at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday, a result that lifts them to 13th in the League One table. Four different players found the net in a commanding performance at Adams Park, extending the Hatters' unbeaten record at the ground.

Kasey Palmer opened the scoring in the 16th minute, curling a fine effort from range after being set up by Jamie Donley. Donley then turned scorer himself just eleven minutes later, finishing off a move involving Nahki Wells to double the advantage before the break.

Second-half control

Nahki Wells, the club's top scorer this season with five goals, needed less than a minute of the second half to make it three, slotting home from Jordan Clark's pass. Substitute Devante Cole added a fourth in the 84th minute, before a stoppage-time header from Wycombe's Jack Grimmer denied James Shea a clean sheet.

Shea was instrumental in preserving the lead, making a series of important saves including a smart stop to deny Fred Onyedinma late on. The goalkeeper's performance was part of a solid defensive effort, with George Johnston and Hakeem Odoffin particularly impressive. Odoffin, playing at right-back, was tough to beat in one-on-one situations and won all of his ground duels.

Manager Wilshere made several changes in the second period to manage the game, introducing Isaiah Jones and Cole as Luton reshaped to protect their lead. The team now looks ahead to a trip to face Milton Keynes Dons next Saturday.

The victory, which follows a draw with Colchester, gives Luton 11 points from their opening eight matches. They sit eight points behind leaders Plymouth Argyle. For a detailed look at the squad that earned this result, visit our squad section.
