Luton Town must find a response on the road after a recent defeat to Stevenage. The Hatters travel to face the same opponent looking to improve their away form and climb from 12th place in League One.

Their last trip to Stevenage ended in a 2-1 loss just days ago. Daniel Kemp put the hosts ahead in the 23rd minute, with Josh Magennis doubling the lead after 70 minutes. Mads Juel Andersen pulled one back for Luton with a quarter of an hour to go, assisted by Kasey Palmer, but a comeback fell short.

That result continued a difficult recent spell away from home. Luton's sole league defeat in their last 16 outings was a heavy 5-2 loss at Mansfield Town, but their overall record in that period remains strong with ten wins and five draws. They have, however, lost three of their last five matches across all competitions.

Stevenage present a formidable challenge at home. They have won nine of their last 13 league games at their own ground and have scored in each of their last 13 there. The historical head-to-head record is mixed. Luton are unbeaten in their last four meetings with Stevenage but have not won at Stevenage's stadium in their last four visits, drawing two and losing two.

Luton's last league victory over Stevenage was a 2-1 win in January, and they will be aiming for back-to-back wins in this fixture for only the second time ever. The club's first Football League meeting with Stevenage, back in October 2014, also ended 2-1 in Luton's favour.

With eight points from six games, the focus is on building consistency. A look at the standings shows the gap to the top is five points, while the next test is a home game against high-flying Bradford City. Top scorer Nahki Wells, with four goals this season, will be key to turning form around.
