Luton Town striker Lasse Nordas has completed a loan move to Polish top-flight side KS Cracovia for the remainder of the season. The club confirmed the transfer, which includes an option to buy, in an official statement on their website this week.
Nordas, a 24-year-old former Norwegian U21 international, joined Luton from Tromsø in January 2025 but found first-team opportunities limited under manager Jack Wilshere. He made 26 appearances for the Hatters, scoring four goals, with three of those coming in the Vertu Trophy. After being told he did not have a future at Kenilworth Road and not being given a squad number for this term, he spent the latter part of last season on loan at Dutch club SC Heerenveen, where he scored six times in 16 league outings.
Jack Wilshere had made it clear to several players at the end of the previous campaign that a move would be in their best interests. The manager stated that Nordas was among that group, seeking regular playing time which he was unlikely to get with Luton Town. "He wanted to play, he was similar to all the players that left, who I made it clear to at the end of last season, that it would probably be the best for them (to leave)," Wilshere said.
The search for the right opportunity took time, with Nordas described by Wilshere as a "deep thinker" who was "really clear with what he wants." The manager added, "It’s taken a while with Lasse, but fine, credit to him, he was waiting for the right opportunity, looking for the right club." The eventual solution was a move to Poland, a league the striker has never experienced before.
Nordas joins a historic Polish side, KS Cracovia, who are five-time champions of the Ekstraklasa. The club currently sits 10th in the table after taking eight points from their opening six matches of the season. Luton Town's official statement highlighted Cracovia's championship pedigree while wishing the player the best of luck for his time in Poland.
The loan deal provides Nordas with a fresh challenge and the chance to prove himself in a competitive environment. For Luton Town, it concludes a chapter on a player who was not part of Wilshere's plans for the current campaign.
The departure of Nordas follows a pattern of squad refinement under Wilshere as Luton Town build for their League One season. The Hatters currently sit 7th in the table, having taken seven points from their first four games with a record of two wins, one draw, and one loss. Their recent form reads WLDW, and they have scored 10 goals while conceding the same number, giving them a neutral goal difference.
They are three points behind early leaders Huddersfield Town. Attention now turns to the next fixture, an away trip to face Stevenage on September 10th. Stevenage are currently 21st in the League One standings, making it a key opportunity for Luton to build momentum. Fans can view the full schedule on the club's fixtures page and check the latest standings.
Wilshere's squad, which fans can review on the squad page, will be looking to tighten up at the back while maintaining their attacking output as they aim to close the gap at the top.
